Our Year 2010 Part III of III

The first months in Hamburg where really stressful because we had to work and build up our life in Hamburg again. It’s was an unspectular summer. The weather became bad quickly. We had no barbeque, no camping, no seaside time. Really bad! The good point was we were able to do some amazing shootings. We are a bit surprised by the early snow this year. Since november we have snow in Germany. Hihi, that was one of the reasons we moved back from Stockholm back to Hamburg -to get rid of all that snow. That’s not fair. But ok, then we had some more time for indoor events like gallery events and concerts. We totaly forgot to do some videos. Such a shame! A good friend of us said, she is starting the next year with no big plan like moving to another city or starting something new. I feel a bit the same. Perhaps that’s the new Generation X feeling. But may be not really since I’m always hoping for the best and that’s not typical for the new grunge! ;) So let’s go with huge steps into the new year and let’s see what the new year will bring us. We are ready for it!

Our Year Part II of III

Back in Stockholm, summer started from one to the next moment. We were hanging around in the park in front of your house drinking way to expensive beer. I was working a lot but it was fun, because we had a great time at the shootings. In summer, this city is completly like another city. Everybody is relaxed and just wants to have a good time. Philipp finished his Interactive Communication Diploma at Berghs School of Communication. So good that he walked this way! I was still working a lot but in our spare time we were glad to be in this so beautiful country and we had some wonderful summerdays. We spend a lot of time with our friends. We also started to do our shootings for the blog. In the end, I don’t understand this decision no more, but we hired an appartment back in Hamburg. I was shocked in the first weeks. ;) Everything was different and we had to learn “the german way” again. It was great to see all the other bloggers from Hamburg at a Bloggermeeting. While I had some bad time in my new job, we did some great shootings for the blog. Ach ja, Anna and I met Alice Dellal. ;)

Our Year 2010 Part I of III

We had a really crazy year this year. If I’m looking back it was one of the wildest in my life. Because so much happend we splitted the 2010 overview in three parts. Here we go with the first 4 months. Let’s start with the most important things in these months. We moved the 3rd time in Stockholm into one of our favorite areas in Stockholm, Södermalm. On a little hill we found our new home and we certainly loved it. In Feburary we were at the Stockholm Fashion Week. It’s a pretty small Fashion Week but with some amazing brands like Minimarket, Acne, Odeur, Cheap Monday, ….I totaly fell in love with the Minimarket shoes and I still have an eye on them. Winter was hard and dark. I can’t remember a day without freezing. ;) So we decided to fly to L.A. What a amazing city. I really want to live there! The whole way of life is totaly what I’m looking for. It was completely different then all the clichees that you have in mind when you are thinking about L.A. L.A. I’m coming back. In the beginning of march, as we were in L.A. my job asked me, if I could go to NYC, because the location of a shooting was changed. Yes of course, I could go to New York! That wasn’t my first time there, so I know some good places to go. It’s allways nice to be there and I had a great time. I got to spend some extra days there because of the volcano. ;) But of course we also did spend some days back in good old Hamburg.

Behind the scenes

I like behind the scenes pictures since they show nothing but the truth. The truth is that Leslie is a non-smoker and Nikita is a camera b*tch, who wants to sit in the front of the camera all the time and we are really just to persons who are deal with just about everything. ;) But hell yeah, we always have a lot of fun. That’s the reason we put up with this hustle everytime. ;)

Too much Vodka is too much Vodka ;)

Pete Rock & CL Smooth | Hamburg

Unfortunately we missed the last show in Stockholm so it was good news to read that Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth would play just around the corner at Grünspan. Too bad we were only allowed to shoot during the first three tracks, so we couldn’t get Pete Rock behind the mic playing classics like TROY and Straighten It Out. Next time! ;-)

Shooting Leslie & Ennio Part III

Every brunette should have something blue in the closet. It just looks great on them. Blue is a better alternative to black, because of the contrast to the hair. It looks great with a really bright red for the lips.

Ennio: Blouse – Fred Perry, Pullover – Won Hundred & Pants – Dr. Denim via Urban Outfitters

Pop-Up Magazine Store

I’m a bit surprised about how much is going on in Hamburg at the moment. On friday 10.12.2010 there will be a closing party for the “Pop-Up Magazine Store“, a project of the “Art-Lawyer“. It’s defintely something for magazine lovers! They are selling independent magazines from all over the world. Nice to have the opportunity to see some more magazines than the normal range at the international magazine stores. If you haven’t been there yet, friday will be your last chance.

Shooting Leslie & Ennio

On sunday we had the chance to shoot with Leslie and Ennio at the Haus III & 70, that is known for good parties and one of the best breakfasts in town. It’s allways nice to shoot with Leslie, so we asked her and Ennio if they wanted join us. Hope you like these and the upcoming pictures. I really like them. ;)

Hamburger Gesichter

Isn’t that cute? I totaly love this picture of Jan Delay. On saturday we went with our weekend guests “Rachel” and Eric to the exhibition “Hamburger Gesichter” at the “Vicious Gallery“. “Thomas Koch” illustrated Hamburg faces for a benifit project. If you need to see more illustration you need to go to the next event. You can bet on the illustrations of Fatih Akin, Jan Delay, Udo Lindenberg, Das Bo, Cosma Shiva Hagen on the december 10th 2010 at the Terrace Hill. All the proceeds from the auction are going the e MUMS LOVE e.V. in Ghana und Strassenkids e.V. And extra plus: Jochen Distelmeyer (Blumfeld) will play unplugged!!!

Salem – Hamburg

If your press-text says that you are influenced by “My bloody Valentine” you definitely got my attention for a while and I will starting googling. “Salem” from Chicago is one of those bands that played in Hamburg at Mondial yesterday. It’s really true, just take a minute and listen a bit to “My bloody Valentine“. If you don’t know Salem yet, give it a try. I heard to many different music genre titles this weekend that I have never heard before. “Chill wave”, drag and a bunch more that I had never heard before. For me, it emo-core at it’s best! But hey, I’m not a music specialist. ;)

Weekend

Weekend yeah, it’s really needed! I’m done. Friends are coming to Hamburg to visit us. Have a nice one and do whatever you wanna do!

Congrats Anna!

One of our friends, blogger colleague and designer “Anna Wegelin” aka “Das Lachsbrötchen” had her final examination yesterday. So Katha, Philipp and I went their to see her great collection for next year. I’m sorry to says that you have to wait until next year to see it. It’s really colorful and totaly Anna like. Meanwhile you should keep an eye on Philipp Reining who is a part of “Fashion & Fame” at “Pro7″ that will start in january! Great to have so talented people in town! We wish you all the best for your future!

The Iconist – iPad Magazine

Yesterday for the lauch of the 2nd edition of the iPad Magazine of the “Iconist” the team invited to a little meet and greet in the Hamburg harbour. The “Iconist” belongs to one of the biggest publishers in Germany, Axel Springer. So of course I was courious to see what they are working on. It was all about an electronic version of the Icon which is the inlay style magazine of the WELT am SONNTAG. I like the idea of an iPad magazine. If you travel a lot, you always see the Kindle or the iPad. People are using those eletronic devices and usage grows day by day. That’s no rumor no more. In Germany you don’t see it that often yet which is a bit sad though. It’s really positive that a big pubisher like Axel Springer is doing an iPad mag. I like the content and layout. It’s nice to see that someone is trying to work something out. It’s a really young medium, so it’s still in it’s first steps but I have to say that I did expect a bit more digital content like video and various other touch-points to be embedded. The price of 4.99 Euro is also not really inviting either. Perhaps I’m not the target group though since the Icon focuses on a luxury target group. ;) But I’m sure they will work something out for the future.

Weekend styles

Snow in Germany! To early! Buuuu!

Ting Tings & American Apparel

I have no idea about what is going on in Hamburg. Events on every corner. Yesterday we first joined the Family and Friends Sale with drinks, music and fingerfood at “American Apparel“. And of course we where too late for the “Myspace Secret Show” of the “Ting Tings“. Five minutes before the show started we arrived…. The location was totally packed and we were just happy to get in. Why choose the easy way if you can have a exiting way to get in. ;) The show was quite nice and they played a lot of the new songs. I like that the new sound in general is full of 80′s sounds and a bit more grown up.

Kele Okereke – Pop Mondial

Nope, we are not turning our blog into a music related blog. ;) But Hamburg is known for a really good music scene and at the moment there are a lot of good concerts. Perhaps the team around “Pop Mondial” and “Death by Pop” got something to do with that. They influence the whole city with their good taste and golden finger for bookings. Last week “Theophilus London” this week “Kele Okereke” known from “Bloc Party” and on saturday emo rapper “Casper“. If you don’t wanna miss a good event, you should definitely bookmark their dates page.
